As a Therapist I've heard countless stories of divorces that have not served the parties well. I've also heard the stories of adult children that suffered through their parent's divorce. While divorce is a stressful transition, full of anxiety and reactivity, I know it can go well when people are able to manage themselves well and be thoughtful as well as have a place for their emotion to be processed. Much of the collaborative process is about these things. Supporting both individuals to be at their best and make the transition well. This is what draws me to being a Divorce Coach in Collaborative Practice.
