BASIC/REFRESHER TRAINING  -- 12 CEU Credits

This Introductory Interdisciplinary Collaborative Training includes an introduction to the Collaborative Process including the philosophy of collaborative practice, skills development, ethics and practice development, and other practical considerations with an emphasis on team building and how to work as or with a neutral. It provides the minimum standards for basic training set by the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.

OUR TRAINERS

Brad Hunter received his LL.B. from the University of Saskatchewan in 1980.  In 1981 he was admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar and was winner of the Law Society of Saskatchewan Academic Excellence Award for Highest Standing.  In 2007, he was granted Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.).

Brad has been very active in the legal community serving as the founding president of the Collaborative Professionals of Saskatchewan, a board member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, chair of the Canadian Bar Association National Family Law Section and taught at the bar admission course for many years. Brad has trained many professionals in collaborative law and collaborative practice across Canada, the United States and Australia.

Brad is a member of  the Law Society of Saskatchewan, Canadian Bar Association, Regina Bar Association and Collaborative Professionals of Saskatchewan.

 

Gaylene A. Stingl, MST, CPA, CVA, has a B.S. in Accounting from Carroll University and a M.S. in Taxation from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  She is a Principal with Blau-Himmel LLC. She assists individuals and small businesses with their accounting and tax compliance needs. Working in the Valuation and Litigation field, Gaylene has experience as an expert in civil/commercial law in both the circuit and federal courts of Wisconsin. She also has extensive experience as an expert in family law litigation, collaborative divorce and mediation. She has a demonstrated knowledge base and experience related to business valuation, business consulting and financial planning.

Gaylene was the 2005 chair of the Collaborative Family Law Council of Wisconsin and a former member of the board for the IACP. She is currently a member of the IACP training faculty and participates in the Trainer Development Network Committee and Basic Training Curriculum Task Force.

Gaylene has been a member of a number of training teams throughout the United States and Canada. She has presented workshops at the European Collaborative Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland and training presentations in Italy, presenting on the role of the financial specialist and other Collaborative Practice topics.

 

Barbara Hummel, LPC, received a M.Ed, LPC. in 1981 and a Masters of Counselor Education Licensed Professional Counselor State of Ohio in 1988. She is a licensed professional counselor. 

Barbara is a trained divorce mediator and a national and international trainer for Collaborative Law. She has presented Basic and AdvancedMultidisciplinary Collaborative Law trainings on the Collaborative Law process and the role of the mental health professional as a Neutral Coach in the Collaborative Law process. She has also presented at IACP International Forums and for Collaborative groups in the United States and in Lucca, Italy.  She is a Divorce Coach, Child Specialist, Marriage and Family Counselor, Parenting Coach and Mediator.

Barbara is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (since 2001), Cincinnati Academy of Collaborative Professionals, Steering Committee of CACP Family Relations Specialist Steering Committee of CACP, and Co-Chair Cincinnati Academy of Collaborative Professionals – 2011/2013.
